School Counsellor

Full Time Role – Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh

AIMEE International School is dedicated to fostering the holistic development and well-being of our students. We are seeking a compassionate and experienced School Counselor to join our team and provide guidance and support to students navigating academic, personal, and
social challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Individual Counselling: 
      • Conduct one-on-one counselling sessions to address students’ personal and academic concerns.
      • Assist students in developing coping strategies and decision making skills.
  • Group Counseling:
      • Facilitate group counselling sessions to address common challenges and promote a sense of community.
      • Provide a supportive environment for students to share experiences and learn from one another.
  • Academic Guidance:
      • Collaborate with students, teachers, and parents to identify academic goals and create individualised academic plans.
      • Offer support in course selection, study skills, and time management.
  • Crisis Intervention:
      • Respond to and manage crisis situations affecting students’ well-being.
      • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to provide timely and effective support during crises.
  • Parent Collaboration:
      • Communicate with parents to address concerns, share insights, and provide guidance on supporting their child’s well-being.
      • Conduct parent workshops on relevant topics related to adolescent development and mental health.
  • Professional Development:
      • Stay updated on counselling best practices, mental health issues, and trends affecting students.
      • Engage in continuous professional development to enhance counselling skills.

Qualifications

    • A master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field. Relevant certifications are preferred.
    • Proven experience as a school counsellor or in a similar counselling role.
    • Knowledge of counselling theories, adolescent development, and academic planning.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.

Additional Expectations

    • Interested candidates should ideally be willing to commit to a minimum of two years.
